Illustrations and packaging design for a set of collectible premium poker cards.
Lords and Ladies
A set of luxury playing cards featuring 54 unique illustrations, a custom tuckbox, and an elegant wax seal. The face cards are illustrations of famous kings and queens throughout European history, and the complex linework draws from periods such as the Baroque Era and Art Deco.
My interest in Art Deco strongly influenced these illustrations. Many of the patterns reference 1920's artists such as Erte and Sonia Delaunay. Additionally, each card suit represents a different line of famous rulers and interweaves symbols from that country's world history. For example:

Logo
The primary Lords & Ladies logo doubles as a wax seal. To make the stamp, I laser engraved a piece of acrylic and then imprinted it into gold sealing wax.
An additional Lords & Ladies emblem was created just for this card deck and is also shown below.
Exhibition
I had the opportunity to exhibit my cards in SUMA (Southern Utah Museum of Art) and host a Gallery talk where I answered questions from faculty, students, and community members about my concept and process.
